Singapore - SYSTEM ENGINEER (WINDOWS 2000/2003 SERVERS - PERM)

SYSTEM ENGINEER (WINDOWS 2000/2003 SERVERS - PERM) Post Date: 09 May 09Role:

-- Ensure all production servers and systems are monitored, hardened and secured

-- Ensure capacity management and Data Centre prioritization for data centers

-- Maintain change and configuration management records appropriate for the Data Centre environment

-- Overall responsibility for the coordination of DC access, power-downs, maintenance works, expansions, relocations, documentation.

-- Provide an efficient and effective fault resolution service and first/second line Data Centre support service to the company escalating upward, when appropriate, to ensure management and resolution of all faults in the Data Centre environment

-- Ensure coverage of all operator and librarian functions pertaining to all backup storage systems and associated media

-- Implement projects.

-- Continual enhancement of global standards for Data Centre policies and procedures

-- DRP Testing.

-- Meet published SLA in supporting business

-- Manage external vendors and service providers

-- Provision of 24*7 standby support on a rotation basis

Qualifications:

Must have:

-- Diploma/ Degree in IT-related discipline

-- Minimum 5 years of experience with computer hardware, operating systems, networking hardware /software and PBX Nortel

-- Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows NT/2000 servers

-- 2 years of experience in Active Directory and Windows Server 2003

Good to have:

-- Experience in networking/PBX is advantageous.

-- Knowledge in SAN, Blade servers, system/LAN/WAN/Firewall/Nortel PABX products with a keen interest in emerging security related technologies will be advantageous.

-- MCSE 2000 or 2003 + Messaging (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) preferred.

-- Project Management experience will be an added advantage.

-- Some working knowledge of MS Exchange and MS SQL Servers will be advantageous.

-- Some working knowledge of TCP/IP and Networking fundamentals and of Citrix will be advantageous.

-- Strong background in managing medium to large scale Wintel servers Experience in managing enterprise scale Active Directory infrastructure.

-- Prior experience in Multi-site Exchange migration, deployment and consolidation projects.

-- Hands-on in clustering and NLB especially in Exchange 2000/2003 context.

-- Knowledge of ISA Server administration and application publishing.

-- Knowledge of EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) setup & administration

-- Knowledge of other emerging technologies such as VMWare, SMS, etc.
