Finance Manager (Line of Business) Our client is a provider of commercial media services. It has 40 years of history in serving consumer entertainment media. It is looking for a financial leader who has good experience presenting Finance as a Business Partner to Line of Business.
Profile
The Finance Manager (Line of Business) is a key member of the Business Unit Finance Team and provides critical support to finance and operations leadership. The Manager will act as the Financial Advisor/Liaison for specified markets in his respective region or business unit, reporting directly to the Business Unit Finance Director. The Manager will work directly with Business Unit leadership to support Firm operations, manage financial performance of a business unit(s) and will be a trusted business advisor, providing relevant financial information and guidance to market and business unit leadership. He will monitor the business environment for trends that could potentially affect the success of the business unit, take action to address them, and share best practices with the Business Unit and National LoS Finance team. The Manager will be responsible for teams supporting the individual markets within the business unit.

He has a deep understanding of key business and strategic priorities with oversight and management of a team providing technical financial expertise in the areas of financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, asset management, and cost control.

He has latitude to independently make decisions and solve problems affecting individual markets within the Business Unit and to influence client service Partners and staff in the execution/implementation of programs, initiatives, and strategy. Conducts market reviews for individual markets within the Business Unit. Consults with Business Unit Finance Director on more complex issues. Manages team supporting the Business Unit and/or individual markets within the Region.

He analyzes financial data, identifies needs for reporting, and prepares recommendations to management. Develops business plans and forecasts budget comparisons, profit analysis, and other financial reports for specified markets within a Business Unit. Primary point of contact for Business Unit Finance Director and Business Unit Leaders.

Responsibilities
Substitutes for the Business Unit Finance Director in meetings/presentations when conflicts occur.

Serves as a liaison and supports Business Unit Managing Partners, Market Managing Partners, Business Unit Finance Directors, HR Leaders and client service partners and staff.

Works directly with BU Finance Director to implement Firm and LoS-specific financial strategies for the BUs.

Identifies opportunities for improvements and recommends alternative approaches or solutions to capitalize on change.

Defines and manages strategic projects as necessary.

Develops and owns the budgeting/forecasting process and monitors budget-to-actual progress throughout the year for specified business units.

Promotes control improvements and process efficiencies for the BU and markets.

Possesses strong knowledge of the Firm's operations, financial systems, policies and procedures and how modifications impact financial results.

Manages the investment management function for specified markets in the BU.

Provides financial analysis, reporting and assistance to BU Finance Director and BU Leaders in the areas of operational analysis, cost management and ad hoc reporting.

Responsibility for identifying unfavorable spending trends.

Develops new tools to provide for meaningful analytical review of key financial areas.

Coaches and develops subordinates to enhance their learning and facilitate succession planning. Region and market financial success as measured against the budget and prior year results.


Requirements
8-10 years related experience
first degree in finance or related discipline
good track record of professional achievements
