Finance Director, APAC (based in Shanghai) The CLIENT:

Our Client is one of the world’s leading design software and digital content company. They provide the solutions that allow their customers to create, manage and share digital design data. Their design and collaboration solutions span the industries of architectural design and land development, manufacturing, utilities, telecommunications and media and entertainment.

The JOB/OPPORTUNITY/ROLE:

The incumbent is responsible for providing finance support to the APac Sales organization, leading a team of ten finance professionals supporting a fast growing $500M business which is looking to double in size over the next couple of years. As the business partner to the APac Senior Vice President-Sales, the individual is expected to provide both strategic and tactical support to the leadership team. The candidate must demonstrate independence, excellence and integrity in decision making and business judgment. A strong knowledge of information systems, financial planning, accounting, strategic planning, risk assessment and business development is required. The role reports directly to the Senior Director Worldwide Sales - Finance and indirectly to the Senior Vice President, APac Sales.

§ Lead a team of finance professionals providing business support to the APac sales organization.

§ Drive the annual business planning cycle in support of the longer term strategic objectives of the business.

§ Manage the budget cycle and set targets that drive performance, monitoring financial results.

§ Revenue, expenditure and channel inventory forecasting and analysis.

§ Provide deal structuring and transaction review, revenue recognition risk management.

§ Participate in strategic selling processes and provide support to the deal negotiation processes.

§ Participate in the development and implementation of the channel strategy. Assist in the management of the channel (Distributors, Direct and Indirect VARS)

§ Participate in the setting of sales force compensation plans and management of commission payments.

§ Interface with executive management on key financial/business issues.

§ Reinforce internal controls with a particular emphasis on the training and communication of revenue recognition policies.

§ Drive efficient consistent systems and processes, leverage world wide best practices.

§ Build partnerships/relationships with other departments, collaborate and influence at the highest level.

§ Drive global finance initiatives as part of the worldwide Sales Finance Staff.

§ Manage, train, and develop APac sales finance team.

§ Define a vision and mission, implement significant change within an organization.

§ Communicate organizational objectives, initiatives and issues.

§ Build commitment and allocate resources to make change happen.

§ Create an environment where cross-functional teams flourish and build a collaborative work spirit across the organization.

The CANDIDATE:

§ Bachelor degree (finance, business or accounting), a CPA and/or MBA and at least twelve years of progressively responsible business experience.

§ Minimum of five years experience providing financial, operational, and administrative support to high tech sales organizations
