Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Officer – Financial Services, 3+PQE SG Post Date: 02 Apr 09Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be the regional SOX coordinator of this renowned financial group. In addition to having significant experience in internal or external audit and risk management, you should be familiar with the compliance requirements of SOX Section 404.

The Role:-

Point coordinator for SOX with Regional Office, external consultants and process owners
Review work done by consultant who performs internal control assessments in operational and financial processes to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Section 404
Review work done by consultant who performs compliance audit of information systems and ensure adequate control exists
Manage SOX program and lead related internal control initiatives
Ensure that information system procedures are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 requirements, corporate standards and policies in the region
Liaise with process owners to address deficiencies, continuously monitor resolution, and assess effectiveness of rectifications
Coordinate and liaise with external/internal auditors on SOX issues
Responsible for the efficient allocation of resources to ensure that audit cycles are met
Advise and create awareness amongst staff on compliance issues as well as to take ownership and responsibility for deliverables in all tasks/ special projects assigned
Any other work as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer
Requirements:-

Degree in Accountancy
At least 3 years' experience in internal or external audit operations or risk management or compliance in the insurance industry or within a financial institution
Experience in system development and information security review for mainframe, UNIX, NT, AS/400, database and applications preferred
Familiar with Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 compliance and reporting requirements
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure
Good leadership, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, presentation and report-writing skills
