The Company

The company is a leading global provider of integrated reinsurance services and which serve to underpin and support the traditional insurance companies with the provision of ‘specialist’ technical know-how and which allows for the more accurate assessment of physical, operational and commercial risk associated with specific industry segments. The organization is keen to expand its scope of specialized subject matter expertise in Asia with particular emphasis presently focused upon the pulp & paper and power generation sectors.

The Position

The successful candidate(s) will provide technical advice to property underwriters with respect to risk quality, loss estimates, capacity allocation and the loss prevention measures invoked by its high risk industrial accounts/customers. The role will necessarily include a need to conduct on-site risk inspections and operations reviews that will support both the underwriting and marketing teams; this may include a need to produce written reports to support the underwriting process. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will possess a relevant degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5-10+ years experience in risk engineering. Preference will be given to those with prior loss prevention/fire protection standards / reinsurance experience, and preferably those with extensive exposure to the pulp & paper and/or power generation industries. The company is quite open to applicants from around the world, although it must be stressed that English and an Asian language would be an advantage and the position will be offered strictly on ‘local terms’ and not as an expatriate position.
