The Company's Information Technology Group (ITG) is responsible for:
Managing the Company's technology infrastructure
Supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing business systems
Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies, and services
The Group provides each major business in the Company with a dedicated team that works closely with that business to understand its particular technology needs.
The Company’s Securities Group (MSG) encompasses the Company's Institutional and corporate stock broking, equity derivatives and equity finance capabilities. It utilises its skills in research and risk management to originate equity-based financial solutions and products and services for client, globally. The Group has over 1,700 staff employed in 18 offices around the world. MSG was formed in April 2008 from the merger of the Equity Markets Group and Macquarie Capital Securities.
MSG, Asia is undertaking a large project to replace our existing back office Settlement system, comprising a core workflow engine and an integrated trade settlement component. The settlement system is used for the booking of trades and used globally by New York, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, London and Japan.
The ITG team supporting MSG is currently seeking an experienced Unix Systems Administrator on a contract/permanent basis to be part of a project team working closely with ITG infrastructure and Account Team members based locally in Singapore and remotely in Hong Kong and Sydney.
Core Competencies/Skills include:
a number of years previous experience with but not limited to IBM Blades & SUN X4600 hardware
Redhat LINUX and Solaris 10 OS
SAN storage Technology
Clusterware software products including Veritas Storage Foundation HA and/or Oracle ASM/Clusterware would be advantageous.
excellent written and verbal communication skills
familiarity with Oracle RAC would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be dedicated to the project and be expected to work under short and tight delivery lead-times, including after hours and weekend work when required.
