For our Singapore office, we are looking for a Vendor Manager, to recruit and manage our pool of freelance translators, copywriters and service providers. Your main aim would be to compare the costs, quality and availability of freelance talents so that you get the best value for CLS. The Vendor Manager will identify, monitor, support and negotiate with freelance translators, copywriters and partner agencies to build a reliable and high-quality vendor base across APAC. The Vendor Manager will communicate with a wide variety of specialists and should feel comfortable working with people from different cultural backgrounds. An international perspective with experience in dealing with talent from Mainland China and Taiwan and an interest in the area of finance are a must.
Responsibilities:
§ Understand and review our current vendor-pool as well as search for and develop new vendors
§ Ensure high quality, fast delivery times, good service and competitive pricing
§ Further build up and liaise with a pool of freelancers and agencies for Asian languages
§ Assist our in-house specialists in carrying out quality assessments on potential vendors
§ Maintain a high quality database, keeping it up-to-date
§ Establish and maintain a good overview of the language services industry
§ Work with stakeholders internally to improve processes and implement latest developments
§ Keep up with market trends and the latest technologies
Requirements:
§ University degree or equivalent
§ Experience in a vendor management or a supply chain management role preferred
§ Native Chinese speaker (Putonghua) or proven proficiency in Chinese
§ Excellent English skills both oral and written
§ Proactive and a self-starter
§ Proven negotiation skills
§ Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle competing priorities
§ Team player
§ Knowledge in industry standard tools like TRADOS, STAR or similar applications as well as a background in the field of banking or insurance would be an advantage
