Singapore - Lead Data Architecture (URGENT)

Lead Data Architecture (URGENT) Our client, an MNC is seeking for an experienced & dynamic Lead Data Architect to join them.

Core Responsibilities:

The candidate is required to:

Ø Overall responsibility for the management, planning and development of the data architecture domain.

Ø Accountable for establishing the Data Architecture vision and championing efforts to reach that vision.

Ø Monitors emerging technology and leads investigation and adaptation of beneficial data technologies.

Job Functions:

ØAssist senior management in translating its vision, mission statement and business strategy into a set of agreed-upon IT principles.

ØParticipates in the Architecture Review Committee, representing the data architecture perspective.

ØSetup, document, and maintain an enterprise data architecture development process, which together with the application and infrastructure enterprise architectures will ensure alignment of the total enterprise architecture with business strategy.

--Documenting the existing data architecture environment in order to produce and maintain an accurate “as is” view of current data environment.

--Translating agreed-upon architectural principles into strategic data architecture for the enterprise.

--Define a set of formal standards, policies, and process that integrate data architecture considerations and impact assessment into the broader set of Governance practices.

--Define process and criteria for granting exceptions to the data architecture standards.

--Define the architectural standards for data and data interfaces.

--Ensure that the target data architecture is revisited and updated as technology and business strategies evolve.

--Determine how to best-fit varied (and sometimes opposing) business needs into a single architected solution.

--Provide direction on build vs. buy decisions pertaining to technology when related to data architecture goals.

--Lead the development of the Enterprise Information and Conceptual / Logical data models.

--Champion the consistent use of data by encouraging common entity and attribute definitions and by the seeding of application models with components from the Enterprise model.

--Champion and sponsor the implementation of a corporate metadata management facility.

ØAssist the analysts, developers and the Data Administration team to ensure the agreed-upon data architectural goals are factored into each designated program and project.

ØWork with the Data Quality team in understanding areas where data architecture enhancement will assist the overall quality data.

ØAct as a mentor and coach to the Data Stewards regarding data management and data quality topics.

The Pre-Requisite:

The candidate is required to have:

ØDegree with specialization in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or the equivalent.

ØFamiliarity and expertise with data modeling, database design, and data management techniques and models including:

-- Data warehousing / data marts

-- ETL

-- Data Mining Techniques

-- Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modeling

-- Familiarity with Object Modeling (UML).

-- Defining data requirements and designing databases to satisfy client business objectives

-- Platform selection and allocation of functionality to specific system components

-- Familiarity with one of more data modeling tools

-- Analysis of content and quality of databases.

-- Data management practices and procedures

ØUnderstanding of enterprise technologies, including web technologies, current programming languages, OLTP/OLAP technologies, database, multi-user and multitasking operating systems, and knowledge management systems.

ØProven ability to earn respect and credibility with both technical and business leadership.

ØExperience or familiarity with business process and procedures.

ØFamiliarity or experience with application architecture including application modeling and design approaches such as UML, RUP, and OOAD.

ØExcellent verbal and writing skills: able to develop and present complex material effectively to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.

ØProven ability to perform gap analysis between existing data architectures and proposed data architectures as well as track record of success at closing gaps.

ØProven ability to mentor at both architecture and design levels.

ØExperience in managing data analysts and data modelers
