Your Role:
You will support the project work of the Business Development and Strategy team – which could range from conceptual strategy work through to developing and implementing detailed business plans for new opportunities. Such support work could take a variety of forms such as research, writing plans/proposals, analysis of options etc. You will work with the Strategy Manager to evaluate and challenge strategic plans and initiatives submitted to the Executive Committee.
You will support acquisition and disposal activities and support the Strategy Manager in the evaluation of potential acquisition / joint venture opportunities. You will act as the centre of excellence in the bank for the production, analysis, interpretation and application of market / competitor research. You will produce regular and bespoke research briefs as well as strategy and business performance presentations for a variety of audiences including the executive committees. You will also research, develop options and recommend solutions to ad hoc issues as required.
Your Profile:
You should possess a Bachelor Degree in Finance/accounting/banking or equivalent with at least 2 years work experience within a bank or consultancy. You must have a high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and tackle new subject areas.
Good written/spoken communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management. Proven experience in the production of appropriate written reports for a variety of audiences. You should have proven research and analytical skills and the ability to formulate logical, well considered conclusions and recommendations. You will have the ability to challenge the conventional and look at subjects from different angles. You should have basic financial skills, say from MBA course or equivalent and experience of project planning including project definition and management and the ability to manage more than one project at a time. You must have a keen interest in, and awareness of, the business and financial environment and the impact of that on strategy.
