Job Description:
You will be responsible for efficient, cost effective and acceptable design of industrial refractory lined furnace as defined by proposal, client purchase order, and governing codes and standards including detailed design calculations.
Your work may include, but is not limited to: equipment orientation and location, application of fans, pumps, burners, motors, and calculation of pressure part thickness, structure support design, ductworks and burner piping.
You will also be involved with other areas of design including checking vendor calculations, establishing procedures, etc. This job generally includes the direction and control over the preparation of drawings which present the design for fabrication and construction by others.
You will also need to ensure all works under your care comply with Company ISO 9000 QA Standard.
Pre-requisites / Experience / Skill (s) / Minimum Qualification:
Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent with at least 5 years relevant experience
Experience in design of industrial refractory lined furnaces, heat transfer equipment etc. Structural steel and fabrication equipment experience a bonus
Good understanding in industrial equipment such as pumps, fans, burners and motors etc
Experience in the preparation of equipment specifications and cost estimation
Familiar with governing codes and standards including detailed design calculations
Expertise in use of analytical tools, PC and workstation software including AutoCAD or equivalent software
Good analytical and problem solving skill
Fast learner and able to work independently under minimum supervision
Strong interpersonal and able to communicate fluently in English and Mandarin through spoken and written
Creative with enthusiasm in work assigned
Willing to travel and stay in oversea continuously for a few months period
