Senior Underwriter Post Date: 24 Feb 09Our client is an insurance company. They are looking for an Underwriter for their Life Insurance Department. The life insurance department is responsible for underwriting risks, issuance and alteration of life insurance policies.

Senior Executive, Underwriting

Responsibilities:

-- Reports to the head of technical section.

-- Assist section head in the supervision of staff in the admin unit.

-- Ensure that risks accepted are within underwriting guidelines.

-- Work closely with other staff in the department to carry work effectively.

-- Assist to plan and monitor the department’s administrative matters.

-- Ensure that the department’s administration work is efficiently handled.

-- To underwrite life proposals

-- Ensure that policies issued are within underwriting guidelines by conducting thorough checks on information provided in the proposal forms and by obtaining information that may have been omitted.

-- Compile the department’s monthly statistics by collating statistics from the various units.

-- Oversee the department’s administrative matters covering staff leave, office equipment, stationery, store and meeting rooms by coordinating the department’s needs and staff matters with relevant departments.

-- Undertake any other duties or projects as assigned by the head of department.

Requirements:

-- Degree or ACII/AAII holder with at least 3 year’s experience.

-- Good public relations and organisational skills.

-- Able to attend all enquiries within 1,4,14 principles.
